藤林蔵(萩原健一)は､妻･春恵(黒木瞳)と2人の子供を持つごく普通のサラリーマン｡ある年の瀬､林蔵は自宅がある浦安から故郷の岡山県真鍋島に帰省しようと思い立った｡12月31日､混雑を避けて早朝に出発した4人だったが､すぐに渋滞に巻き込まれてしまう｡様々なトラブルを何とかやり過ごしながら真鍋島を目指すが､事態は思いがけない方向に転がっていく･･･｡
